Portraits are created on location or at your home. I use natural light for baby portraits because they don't like flash. I prefer the brightest window light in your home. Baby prints are available in tinted, black & white or sepia. I use additional lighting on location for high school senior and family portraits so they are also available in full color.
My next available in appointment is in April. My Fee is $225, which includes a credit of $150 to apply towards your order. My fee is due at your sitting in check or cash. I will shoot babies in their 4th month for free, only requiring the $150 for your order credit. Images are uploaded to this website where you purchase from a company called Zenfolio. They have a satisfaction guarantee and have prints available on paper, canvas or standouts, in addition to the usual photo products including cards, mugs, tshirts, tote bags and magnets. If you are comfortable with ordering items on-line you will be able to easily complete your order, or I can assist you by phone. If you don't use computers for purchasing much, I will make an appointment to assist you with your order. A code will be given to you for your credit and applied on check out. An 8x10 print is $25, an 11x14 print is $40 and a 16x20 print is $50. To review pricing on other items before making an appointment, just put any photo in your cart to buy, and products with prices will follow. For clothing choices I recommend classic and timeless. Avoid logos and big patterns, unless you all match and go hawaiian or plaid. If you are a group I suggest you coordinate in some way, like white wtih jeans or Khaki. Realize that red appears as black in B&W prints. I have won "Best of Show" in Professional Photography twice at the Ventura County Fair and taught classes on "Hand Tinting of Black and White Photographs" and "Photography for Parents". I have participated in the Ventura ArtWalk, and served on the Board of the Buenaventura Art Association. I have 55 baby & child portraits at CMH on the 2nd and 7th floor hallways, as well as 15 art prints on Physiology and Surgery hallways. My photography training includes courses at Green River Community College, Ventura College and several expert seminars presented by pupils of Ansel Adams. I credit Terry Timmons for teaching the basics and two workshops with John Sexton for learning to evoke emotion in my prints. Printing portraits in a wet darkroom for several years has made me sensitive to print quality- a preoccupation that has stayed with me as I have moved into digital printing. I currently photograph with Pentax digital camera equipment. I do not seek to create a certain theme or mood beforehand, but my images have been said to contain a tension between the moment of calm seen and the sense of past or future drama. |
